The Courage

Lionwhiskers.com states there are at least six types of courage (physical, social, moral, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual)

Wow! While I read about each one, I believe we all in some point of our lives have experienced or came to showing courage in one of these areas.

You never Hear πŸ‘‚πŸ½ anyone say the courage of that person but you mostly hear the nerve of that individual. I believe social courage is a common challenge. I remember being at a conference this year amongst many leaders and it took social courage to remain in the room. I had social anxiety πŸ˜₯ and experienced discomfort because it was all outside of my comfort zone. I thought if I keep quiet and just listen 🎧, I won’t be embarrassed 😳 or asked to speak πŸ—£οΈ. Wrong! I had a seat that was near three tables from the front where the speakers with the mic πŸŽ™οΈ were located. My seat πŸ’Ί was in the middle. The social courage it took once I was called upon to speak πŸ—£οΈ in front of all the people who filled the room and those watching live. My heart β™₯️ was pounding and anxiety 😦 was to the extreme. I took a deep breathe πŸ§˜πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ before I responded. I let the words from the heart to answer the question flow. After this moment of speaking, I received so many compliments and encouragement. I was thanked from those in the crowd for having what they saw as courage to speak. What they didn’t know was I had no choice but to reach for social courage. My final thoughts πŸ’ were, I hoped I encouraged someone else to face the social anxiety and fear with social courage. The courage you show helps someone else to reach for. As the post from yesterday says courage is contagious. Find the courage you need in your life and just let it rise!
