Finding Safety

The silent voice speaks. After finding oneself in an unsafe place in life mentally, emotionally, and/physically, there’s a question of how long will it take for one to feel safe again.?.?. Trauma, anxiety, depression, tragedy, pain, disappointment, etc can push you towards silence and a loss of safety. One may feel betrayed by too many once trusted and that can lead to one feeling like there is no safe place or trusted person around. How do one recover? There are many thoughts and emotions that runs in one’s head. That’s okay until it’s not okay. What does that mean? There’s a time to feel, embrace what you feel, talk About what you feel, and then there’s a time to heal, forgive, and extend grace. We cannot get stuck in the feel stage to long. We have to believe and push through healing. Finding safety again is vital to healing you. Safe and secure is what the heart, mind, body and soul desires. If any of those areas are betrayed, violated, let down, traumatized, or just mistreated, it will set an alarm of not feeling safe and secure. In order to get back to a safe and secure place, mentally, emotionally, physically, you have to identify what you need and what will help you get back to where you feel like you again. I took a week off from podcasting and blogging because I can relate to this content. Now I’m taking one day at a time to identify the space I’m in, express and identity what I’m feeling, and then take steps like reading the Bible and inspiring books, writing, and talking with others about what I’m internalizing to slowly but surely get back to feeling safe, secure and myself again. It’s okay not to know where all the emotions are coming from, but please start at your pace to finding what can help you get through until you’re back to you. The scars might be there but healing is where you want to find yourself heading towards.
