When I’m reading a book or some good text, I use the highlighter to remember key points I can reflect on. Using the same technique in life, there are moments in our now we forget to highlight. The progress and growth you are experiencing and making in your now is worth highlighting, writing down, remembering. These are moments to resonate to and remember to appreciate. Why do we only magnify our failures, setbacks, moments we had to press reset on our path, or even those moments we tend to see no good? Why not truly assess your moment and identify the best parts you overlook?
Today I had a conversation with a coworker which brought this reminder to celebrate and appreciate what is. Often times we spend much time on what is not or what could be instead of focusing on what is. This has been the most I have smiled. Today I identified my smile has been present more than tears. This is now. This is worth celebrating and appreciating. Growth has been apparent in my communication. My approaches and strategies I implement in bettering my communication skills within myself, for myself, and within my relationships with others is now easier because it’s becoming apart of my new norm. This too is worth highlighting and being grateful in this moment.
As you develop and build in this area of mentality, I believe you will find it helpful and easier to overcome those challenges of seeing always the wrongs by now seeing what is going well. What will you highlight in your daily walk?
