Pressing On in the Storm

I am exhausted, barely holding on,
Waves crash around me, yet I strive to stay calm.
The storm rages on, its winds howl and moan,
Each breath a battle, I feel so alone.

I need rest to refocus, to find my own ground,
To re-balance my spirit, where hope can be found.
I’m doing my best, but it’s hard to complain,
In this struggle for light, I feel both joy and pain.

I’ve poured out my heart, sent prayers for the lost,
Yet in this giving, I’ve forgotten the cost.
Empty inside, with a tank running low,
The wellspring of strength feels too distant to flow.

Everything that once fueled my fire,
Now feels like a memory, a dream to inspire.
I’m searching for fragments of who I used to be,
Longing for moments where I felt truly free.

So take care of yourself, for no one else will,
You can’t give from a void, it’s a lesson we feel.
In this journey of life, as we weather the strife,
Remember to nourish your spirit and life.

I’m pressing on, though the path is unclear,
In the midst of the storm, I’ll fight through the fear.
For I know deep within, as the shadows may creep,
There’s still light to be found, if I dare to seek deep.
