The older I grow and the more years I am blessed to say I been living gives me more time to say I miss family. It’s not only because the Christmas bells 🔔, New Year’s toasts 🥂, or the lights that shine brightest in this season, but it is the longing for family laughter, house full of memories, and the love that overflows in my heart from those around. As I continue to grow in years, I find myself desiring more time with family, friends, and community. When the house is so empty, the distance has grown significantly, and work has become more focus, the value of time becomes more apparent. Time is one significant part of the journey of life that cannot be returned. Priorities shift when the heart rapidly becomes louder than the drum line. Family connection, time, and memories become most visible. Our end of life is unknown so why spend it in a place cold( out of touch with love ones, distant from community, in a feud, etc)? Age, experience, and a pumping heart ♥️ opens your eye to what is truly worth cherishing right in front of you (family, friends, community, romance, etc)
So, when I say it’s more than the Holiday Spirit, I truly mean it! It’s the heart on a megaphone 📢calling for love, hope, joy, peace, hugs, laughter, and bundles of memories.
Don’t let time pass you by. Don’t let the opportunity to be present in the now be taken swiftly. The unexpected could happen and precious gift of life and time can be lost.
Love while your heart beats. Feel the water from your weeping eyes while you reflect and grow. Hug tightly every moment of embrace you get. Laugh until your stomach hurts and you forget what you were even laughing about. Say I love you every opportunity you have to speak. Pray for more moments and those you share them with. Rejoice with a thankful spirit for those you still have time to share with.
