Today I found myself on the treadmill, staring at the glowing red numbers.
Ten minutes left.
Ten.
It didn’t matter how fast my legs were moving — the time on that screen refused to hurry up.
I kept glancing down, expecting the seconds to rush past, but they moved like they were wading through molasses. It was like time was mocking me.
Then God whispered to my spirit:
“That’s how My timing works, too. No matter how fast you run, no matter how hard you push — My clock moves at My pace.”
I’ll be honest… I didn’t like that reminder. I wanted the time to move faster. I wanted the finish line sooner. But just like that treadmill, God’s timing doesn’t respond to my speed, my impatience, or my plans.
It moves when it moves.
It ticks when it ticks.
And it always lands right on schedule.
So, I kept running. Not because the clock sped up, but because I knew I was going to finish — even if I had to wait for the clock to agree with me.
Some of us are staring at God’s clock right now, waiting for something to change. But here’s the thing — He’s not late. He’s not stuck. He’s just moving at the speed of perfect.
And if I can trust the treadmill to eventually hit zero, I can trust Him to get me to my “done” at just the right time.
