By LaToya Jackson | Lesson in Everyday
I’ve tried reaching out — not out of desperation, but from a place of love that refuses to fade. My heart has been open, even when silence echoed louder than words. The growth within me has been real. The lessons have been hard, yet the love… it has not died.
There are days when I wonder — where you are, what you’re thinking, if you ever think of me too. Questions rise, quietly but constantly. And still, my hope whispers louder than my fears. Hope tells me that even if time and distance stand between us, God is still working behind the scenes, weaving purpose into our pause.
Sometimes I wish for just a simple response — a message, a word, a sign that connection still breathes. But even in the waiting, I’m learning to trust that what’s meant to return will find its way back in due time. I believe God will mend, guide, and bring clarity in His perfect way — even when my understanding falls short.
I won’t pretend I understand the silence, or the space that’s grown between us. I don’t. After sharing my heart so openly, there’s a longing to know what more I can say, how I can bridge what’s broken. But I also recognize — healing takes time. Reassurance takes time. Clarity takes time.
And so I wait. Not idly, but in faith.
I see now how long you’ve been present in ways I didn’t always appreciate. I was slow to recognize the blessing in what I had, and slower to express gratitude for it. For that, I’m sorry. I understand that time may be needed — to breathe, to heal, to find your way, perhaps even to find your peace.
Still, I wish for more time — time to share, time to rebuild, time to simply be. Time has been drifting, slipping quietly through the spaces where conversation once lived. But my hope remains steady. Because even if love doesn’t find us in the same way it once did, I pray love will still find us in friendship — a bond that distance can’t erase.
My heart wonders if you still have words unspoken, thoughts unsent. I wonder if hope still flickers within you the way it does in me. I don’t know anymore. But what I do know is this — I’m not giving up on love. I’m not giving up on reconciliation. I’m not giving up on the beauty that comes when hearts are willing to mend.
Because even in silence, I’ve found that love — real love — never truly disappears. It waits. It grows. It learns. It believes.
And so, I’m still holding on. 💫
