Today’s Pass the Mic moment didn’t happen at an event.

It happened at Tropical Smoothie.

While out and about, we met Courtney working her shift. Like so many others, she was simply doing her job, serving customers, moving through her day.

But what I’ve learned through Lesson in Everyday is this — everyday moments hold space for deeper conversations if we’re willing to pause.

So we did.

We asked our two Starter Week questions:

What are you grateful for?

What words would you leave us to reflect on that are inspirational, motivational, or encouraging?

And in that space, gratitude was spoken with sincerity. Encouragement flowed naturally. There was no script. No rehearsal. Just authenticity.

It reminded me that purpose doesn’t clock out.

Wisdom doesn’t require a platform.

And light can shine from behind any counter.

Courtney may have thought she was simply working a shift. But in that moment, she became part of something bigger — building community, inspiring others, and reminding us that hope lives in everyday spaces.

Lesson in Everyday exists for moments like this.

To share the mic.

To create room.

To remind us that everyone has something valuable to say.
