Today’s Pass the Mic moment felt especially meaningful.

Instead of meeting someone out in the community, I decided to start the week right at home—with family.

On this Sunday afternoon, I passed the mic to my 84-year-old grandfather, Willie Hubbard Senior.

There is something sacred about sitting with someone who has lived through decades of change, growth, challenges, and blessings. Their perspective carries weight because it has been tested by time.

I asked him a simple question:

“What words of inspiration or wisdom would you leave with us?”

And like many elders, his response didn’t come from theory. It came from experience.

Moments like this remind me that wisdom is not always found in books, podcasts, or motivational speeches. Sometimes it lives quietly in the voices of the people who raised us, guided us, and watched life unfold long before we arrived.

Lesson in Everyday exists for moments like this.

Moments where we pause long enough to listen.

Moments where stories become lessons.

Moments where wisdom is passed from one generation to the next.

Today wasn’t just about recording a video. It was about honoring legacy.

Because sometimes the greatest inspiration is sitting right beside you.
