There’s something about taking Pass the Mic on the road that has changed me.

What started as a simple idea—stepping out, asking a question, and listening—has turned into something so much deeper than I ever imagined.

It’s not just about passing a mic.

It’s about presence.

It’s about people.

It’s about purpose.

As I’ve traveled and taken these conversations into everyday spaces, I’ve had the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life—young, middle-aged, and elders. And every single one of them has left something with me.

Something real.

Something honest.

Something unforgettable.

I’ve heard stories of perseverance—people pushing through life’s hardest moments and still choosing to keep going.

I’ve heard reminders about taking care of our bodies—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

I’ve heard about faith—not just as a word, but as a lifestyle. A real relationship with Christ. A daily walk. A decision to trust God even when life doesn’t make sense.

And one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned?

To truly embrace every moment.

To let go of what I can’t control.

To release the past.

To stop holding onto things that were never meant to go with me into the next season.

Because when you listen to people—really listen—you begin to understand how much freedom comes from letting go.

What amazes me the most is how one simple question can open the door to something so meaningful.

A conversation starter becomes a moment.

A moment becomes a connection.

A connection becomes impact.

I’ve seen it in their faces.

Sometimes I walk up to someone unexpectedly, and you can see the hesitation at first. But then something shifts. They begin to open up. They begin to share.

And when the conversation ends, I get to walk away seeing something beautiful—

A smile.

A light.

A moment where they feel seen, heard, and valued.

And that… that means everything to me.

Because it’s not just about what they pour out—it’s also about what we pour back in.

Encouragement.

Kindness.

Gratitude.

From our hearts to theirs.

I’ve learned the importance of slowing down.

Not rushing.

Not forcing.

But being present.

Looking people in the eye.

Remembering their names.

Thanking them for their courage, their openness, and their willingness to share their voice.

And every single time, I leave inspired.
