Scripture teaches us a powerful lesson when Jesus instructed His disciples to shake the dust off their feet when a town refused to receive them. This instruction was not about punishment—it was about protection. It was about preserving peace. It was about continuing the mission without carrying offense.

In recent days, as I have been moving throughout the community—serving, listening, encouraging, and passing the mic to everyday people—I have seen both acceptance and rejection. I have witnessed gratitude, but I have also experienced hesitation and resistance.

And through it all, God reminded me of something important:

Not everyone will understand your heart.

There are people in this world who struggle to accept kindness when there is no motive attached. They question generosity. They doubt sincerity. They wonder what you want in return—even when the answer is nothing.

But true service is not transactional.

It is spiritual.

Serving with a cheerful heart means showing up because God placed love inside of you, not because you expect recognition from others.

Still, rejection can sting.

Opposition can feel discouraging.

Cold responses can feel personal.

Yet Scripture reminds us that we are not to seek revenge, because vengeance belongs to God. We are not called to carry resentment, but to carry peace.

When adversity rises against the God in you, it does not mean you are doing something wrong. Often, it means you are doing something right.

Challenges are not always obstacles.

Sometimes they are lessons.

Opposition is not always defeat.

Sometimes it is confirmation.

Rejection is not always the end.

Sometimes it is redirection.

God calls many of us to serve quietly—checking on someone, offering a meal, listening to a story, or simply showing kindness without expecting anything in return. These acts may seem small to the world, but they are significant in the Kingdom.

And one day, we will all stand accountable for how we treated others.

That truth should not bring fear—it should bring awareness.

So when people misunderstand your intentions…

When communities do not respond the way you hoped…

When kindness is met with indifference…

Do not allow bitterness to grow.

Shake the dust off.

Pray for them.

Release the hurt.

And keep moving forward.

Because serving with love is never wasted.

Kindness is never unnoticed by God.

And obedience is never in vain.

Continue to serve.

Continue to love.

Continue to walk in your calling.

You are not rejected.

You are on assignment.
