Family. Integrity. Pray,faith&hope

By LaToya Jackson | Lesson In Everyday

There are moments when you set out on a journey not fully knowing what you will encounter, but trusting that every stop, every conversation, and every voice will carry a lesson. That is exactly what happened during our Pass the Mic with LA: Mobile Motivation one-day road tour through Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

This was not just a trip down the highway.

It was a journey into the hearts of everyday people.

It was a reminder that wisdom does not always come from stages or spotlights—it often comes from sidewalks, parking lots, and unexpected encounters with people willing to share a piece of their story.

On this day, we welcomed several special guests who stepped up to the mic and spoke from their life experiences. Each person answered simple questions, yet their responses carried powerful meaning—messages we can apply to our everyday walk, our relationships, and our purpose.

Motivation Rooted in Family and Affirmations

One of our first guests shared what motivates him to do what he does each day. His answer was simple, yet deeply meaningful: family.

He explained that his drive comes from the responsibility and love he has for the people who depend on him. He also shared another key to his motivation—speaking affirmations over his life.

That moment served as a reminder that motivation is not always about recognition or achievement. Sometimes motivation is about showing up for the people you love and believing in yourself enough to speak life into your situation.

Affirmations are more than words.

They are declarations.

They are reminders that even in difficult seasons, we have the power to encourage ourselves and keep moving forward.

Lesson In Everyday:

What we speak over our lives can shape how we live our lives.

A Powerful Word: Integrity

Another special guest shared a word that resonated deeply with everyone listening—Integrity.

She spoke honestly about the importance of maintaining character and not allowing emotions to control our responses. Her message was clear and practical:

“It is what it is. Don’t take things so deeply that aren’t worth responding or acting impulsively.”

In today’s fast-paced world, it is easy to react quickly, speak too soon, or allow frustration to guide our actions. But integrity calls us to pause, reflect, and choose wisdom over impulse.

Her words reminded us that strength is not always loud.

Sometimes strength looks like self-control.

Sometimes strength looks like silence.

Lesson In Everyday:

Protect your peace by responding with integrity, not emotion.

Three Voices, Three Words: Pray, Faith, and Hope

Toward the end of our journey, three women stepped forward and each shared one word that could inspire, motivate, and encourage others in their daily walk.

Their words were:

Pray.

Faith.

Hope.

Each woman spoke from her heart, drawing from her personal life journey. Their voices carried passion, conviction, and truth. These were not just words spoken casually—they were words shaped by experience, perseverance, and trust in God.

Prayer reminds us to stay connected.

Faith reminds us to keep believing.

Hope reminds us to keep going.

Together, these three words form a foundation strong enough to carry us through life’s challenges and uncertainties.

Lesson In Everyday:

When life feels heavy, hold on to prayer, stand in faith, and never let go of hope.

The Power of Everyday Voices

This road tour through Hattiesburg reminded us of something important:

Every person has a story.

Every story holds a lesson.

Every lesson can inspire someone else.

The beauty of Pass the Mic with LA is not just in asking questions—it is in listening to the answers. It is in creating space for everyday people to share wisdom that might otherwise go unheard.

These moments strengthen communities.

They build connections.

They remind us that encouragement can come from anyone, anywhere, at any time.

Final Reflection

As we reflect on this one-day journey, we carry with us the voices, the lessons, and the encouragement shared along the way. From motivation rooted in family, to living with integrity, to holding on to prayer, faith, and hope—each message serves as a reminder that growth happens through everyday experiences.

At Lesson In Everyday, we believe inspiration is not reserved for special occasions.

It lives in daily conversations.

It lives in community.

It lives in the willingness to share and listen.

So as you continue your journey, ask yourself:

What word will guide your walk today?

And when the opportunity comes, don’t hesitate—

Pass the mic. 🎤✨
